We strive to provide timely and efficient mental health services to all our clients. To ensure that everyone receives the care and attention they need, we kindly ask you to review and adhere to the following policies.
Sessions are typically scheduled in advance at the same time and day, if possible. Your therapist may suggest a different amount of therapy depending on the nature and severity of your concerns. Your consistent attendance greatly contributes to a successful outcome.
You are expected to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance. You are given the opportunity to receive appointment reminders via email, voicemail, and/or text message that arrive 48 hours, 24 hours, and 15 minutes before scheduled appointments. If you do not provide your therapist with at least 24 hours’ notice in advance, you are responsible for a $50 late cancellation fee for licensed clinicians and clinicians in training and $20 for interns. The late cancel fee also applies if you only join an appointment to notify your therapist that you are unable to attend the full appointment or to cancel. This fee is not reimbursable by any insurance company and will be automatically charged to the card that you have on file during the time of your missed appointment.
Therapy works best when it is regularly scheduled and attended. However, it is also important that you and your therapist remain healthy. If you have a fever, body aches, or chills in the last 48 hours, we can cancel, reschedule, or move to a virtual session. Do not come into the office or waiting room. This policy is to keep you, your community, and your therapist healthy.
If you are late to session, your therapist will meet with you for the remainder of your appointment time. If you are more than 15 minutes late to session, you will need to reschedule your appointment, and you will be charged for a missed session. Please call as soon as you know you will be late. In some circumstances, your therapist can provide you a phone session when clinically appropriate. Your insurance plan probably won't reimburse you for a shortened or missed session and may not reimburse for a phone session.
When there is bad weather or you are unable to physically come in for your session, your therapist offers virtual sessions via a secure platform online or via phone.
In the event that your therapist needs to cancel your appointment, they will make every effort to notify you as soon as the information is available and ahead of your scheduled appointment time. They will then make reasonable effort to reschedule the appointment if needed.
Your therapists generally take off 4 weeks throughout the year and 2 weeks around the end of the year. You will be given advanced notice of any time your therapist will be out of the office. A plan will be put in place prior to these times away.
A $10.00 service charge will be charged for any checks returned for any reason for special handling.
