Provisionally Licensed or Fully Licensed Therapist

Job Description

Duties

Provide effective counseling/therapy to clients including case coordination and crisis intervention as needed. Maintain accurate and complete client records. Continue professional growth. Participate in peer consultation. Collaborate with community networks as needed for client services and program development. Maintain the highest levels of standards of ethics and confidentiality.


Minimum Education and Experience:

Master's degree in a mental health related field. 


Provisional Therapist – Must either

1) Have an MA or MSW and pass the NCE or LMSW exam and obtain board approval for PLPC or LMSW license within 90 days of employment OR 

2) Be provisionally licensed and obtaining supervision toward licensure as a professional counselor or clinical social worker in the State of Missouri.  


Licensed Therapist - Must be professionally licensed in the state of Missouri as a professional counselor, clinical social worker or marriage and family therapist. (LPC, LCSW or LMFT) some social service experience preferred.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of counseling theories and practices, therapeutic models and interventions for use with target client population including children and youth, adults, group work, couples or family counseling. 
  • Knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment planning. 
  • Knowledge of ethical standards and legal regulations. 
  • Knowledge of community resources. 
  • Effective professional therapeutic skills. 
  • Crisis intervention skills. 
  • Ability to function as an effective team member. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete client records. 
  • Computer skills and time management.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, couples, or family therapy
  • Conduct comprehensive intake and follow-up assessments
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of sessions
  • Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings
  • Function as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, with opportunities to engage in peer mentorship and clinical supervision if desired
  • Opportunities to provide couples and family therapy if desired
  • Opportunities to develop additional clinical programming if desired


Part-time: 

Available to hold at least 10-12 client sessions per week, scheduling around 12-14 to account for no-shows
